Nothing is required. Packs arrive and sell exactly as before. Pharmacies and distributors who want more can use FirstScanIt in two ways.

Check incoming stock
Scan a few packs from each delivery to catch fake, recalled or expired stock before it reaches the shelf.
Scan to bill
Pharmacies can scan the same code at the counter to add the item to a bill.

Do pharmacies or distributors pay anything?
No. Checking codes is free for everyone. Manufacturers pay for the codes they generate.
How does FirstScanIt protect an honest distributor?
A distributor can show that the stock it passed on checked genuine. When fakes appear in a market, the scan record helps show where they entered.
How does it help a pharmacy with its customers?
Customers can check a medicine on their own phone at the counter and see that it is genuine, within date and not recalled.
