Which Error-Correction Level Should I Use?
QR codes include built-in redundancy so they still scan when partly damaged or dirty. Level L recovers ~7% and makes the smallest code; M (~15%) is the everyday standard; Q (~25%) and H (~30%) are best when the code will be printed small, on curved surfaces, or in tough environments such as pharmaceutical and industrial packaging.
Print Tips for Reliable Scanning
- Keep a clear "quiet zone" (white margin) around the code — at least 2 modules.
- Maintain strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans best.
- Use the SVG download for print so the code stays sharp at any size.
- Don't scale below ~2 cm for packaging, and test-scan before mass printing.
