A barcode identifies a product. It can't prove it's genuine.
Barcodes are public and printed identically on every unit — counterfeiters copy them freely. FirstScanIt adds a cryptographically signed, serialised QR layer that proves authenticity and catches clones the moment they're scanned.
Add Anti-Counterfeit ProtectionHow to Generate a Barcode Online
Pick a barcode type, enter your data, and the barcode renders instantly. For retail barcodes (EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, ITF-14) you only enter the data digits — the final check digit is computed automatically using the GS1 modulo-10 algorithm, so the result is always valid. Download a PNG for documents or a scalable SVG for print artwork.
Which Barcode Type Do I Need?
- EAN-13 — the worldwide retail standard. India's GS1 prefix is 890.
- UPC-A — 12-digit retail barcode used mainly in the US and Canada.
- EAN-8 — compact 8-digit code for small packages.
- ITF-14 — printed on shipping cartons and cases for logistics.
- Code 128 — high-density alphanumeric code for internal labels, asset tags, and shipping.
- Code 39 — older alphanumeric code still common in automotive and defence supply chains.
Need an Official Retail Barcode?
To sell through retailers you need a GTIN issued by GS1 (in India, GS1 India). This tool draws a valid barcode from any number, but only a GS1-allocated GTIN is registered to your company. Validate any existing barcode's check digit with our GS1 Barcode Validator.
